RENO, NV - Washoe County sheriff's detectives have added charges against a Reno man accused of touching young girls sexually.

65-year-old Carl "Wayne" Smith, a truck driver, is charged as of Valentine's Day with five counts of Luring a Child, plus Open and Gross Lewdness and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. Charges were added when three girls came forward to say they had been victimized by Smith, after original accusations by two girls. Bail is now set at $97,500.

Detectives say Smith, who was known to the girls as “Wayne”, would contact children under the age of 16, without the parents' consent or knowledge, to engage in sexual activity. They also say Smith pretended to be the uncle of at least one of the girls.

Detectives believe Smith may have victimized other girls who live in the area. These people, parents or acquaintances are urged to contact Detective Liles at 775-328-3327. Victim Advocate services will be made available upon request.
