RENO, NV - The Washoe County Sheriff's Office has arrested a local man for sexual assault of a child.
39-year-old Gene Sherman is in custody after being accused of sexual contact with a child under the age of 14 in Sun Valley. Detectives believe this happened during the fall of 2012, while he was staying with a family friend.
Sherman is being held at the Washoe County Detention Facility without bail.
