SPARKS, NV - A Sparks man has been booked on charges of kidnapping, false imprisonment and domestic battery.
Police arrested 37-year-old Justin Lewis Lauderdale for allegedly beating a woman and holding her against her will for two days.
According to Sparks police, Sunday night a witness saw a man forcing a woman into a gold Ford Taurus and hitting her at the Paul’s Market at 1550 Vance Way. When officers arrived on scene, they couldn’t find the victim or the man.
Monday afternoon, officers were called to Northern Nevada Medical Center for a woman who was reportedly beaten and abducted by her boyfriend. During the investigation, officers learned the woman was the same victim from the previous night. She had multiple injuries to the head, face and body that were consistent with witness reports.
She claims the man drove her to Reno, where he held her captive and continued to beat her. She was able to leave him with the help of a family member.
She also described the assault at Paul’s Market as being temporarily interrupted by several men in a white vehicle who saw what happened and yelled at the man to leave her alone.
The Sparks Police Department is asking the witnesses in the white vehicle or anyone with information in this case to please contact the Sparks Police Department or Secret Witness (322-4900).
