RENO, Nev. (AP) - A 56-year-old man who officials say was behaving erratically faces charges for "brushing" past a Transportation Safety Administration checkpoint in the Reno airport.
Authorities arrested Mark Thomas Myers about 9 a.m. Thursday on suspicion of misdemeanor trespassing, disturbing the peace, battery, obstructing an officer and resisting an officer.
Spokesman Brian Kulpin of the Reno-Tahoe International Airport says Myers was not a ticketed passenger but apparently wanted to visit a friend.
Kulpin says airport police never lost sight of Myers and quickly took him into custody after he bypassed the checkpoint. Officials say Myers wasn't armed.
Kulpin says this is the first time someone has pushed past a checkpoint at the airport, but says airport police regularly rehearse similar scenarios during training.
