RENO, Nev. -- Reno Police arrested a man they say used a large knife or machete during two robberies and one attempted robbery.

It started Saturday 12th before midnight at the 7-Eleven on W. Seventh St. at N. McCarran and the nearby Jackson's on S. McCarran. At both locations, a man used what witnesses called a machete to take money from the convenience stores.

Then, after midnight, employees at the Walmart on W. Seventh St. say a man tried to do the same thing to them but was interrupted by other Walmart workers and ran away before he could get anything.

Reno Police say about 20 minutes later, the suspect, 39-year-old John E. Miller, was located driving in downtown. He was arrested without incident, but officers say during the arrest it was determined he was intoxicated. They later learned he already had two felony DUI convictions.

Miller is facing two counts of Armed Robbery, one Attempted Robbery count, and a Felony DUI charge.
