LOVELOCK, NV - Lovelock Correctional Facility is experiencing a water outage that began early Saturday morning, according to officials.
Brian Connett, the Department of Corrections Public Information Officer, confirmed the outage on Sunday morning. According to Connett, workers noticed a drop in pressure as they were filling the facility's water tanks. Their backup system also failed.
County water officials are working to restore water flow to the facility, and expect the problem to be fixed today.
While toilets have been turned off, Connett says that the showers do have low pressure, and are allowing inmates to fill water bottles from them. Officials are working with a private vendor to bring in portable toilets for use until the problem is fixed.
