Sparks, Nev. - A Sparks chef has been inducted into an elite culinary society.
Chef Michael Norton has worked at John Ascuaga's Nugget since 2008, and he's been in the culinary industry for more than 30 years.
Recently, Chef Norton was inducted into an elite culinary society, called The Disciples Escoffier International. The society was established in France to maintain the good name and traditions of French cuisine.
"Well, I hadn't expected it, honestly, so it was an honor. I'm very proud of it," said Chef Norton.
Chef Norton says there are only two chefs in the state of Nevada that hold the honor, and he's the only one in Northern Nevada.
He was honored for his culinary expertise at a ceremony in Miami at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts.
If you would like to try some of the dishes created by Chef Norton, you can head to any one of the Nugget's nine restaurants.
