Local Businesses Offer Facilities to Displaced Families of Fire

The current evacuation area encompasses everything southwest of McCarran and S. Virginia Street, and the entire area between Skyline Blvd., S. McCarran and Plumas. Galena Shelter is closing – evacuees are being transferred to Reno High Shelter ONLY.

Residents can get information about the fire at 211, 337-5800. Those without phone coverage can e-mail help@washoecounty.us. To volunteer or for assistance, the Red Cross is available at 856-1000.

The Victorian Inn in Sparks is offering free housing for the families being evacuated due to the fire. First come, first serve. Bring your local ID. Address: 1555 Victorian Avenue Sparks, 89431

Our hearts and thoughts are with the victims of this tragic fire. If any evacuees need refuge, we have our doors open and are pet-friendly.

Atlantis is working with the American Red Cross of Northern Nevada to provide complimentary rooms to community families who have lost or encountered extreme damage to their homes due to the SW Fire. Red Cross would like everyone who is displaced to go to the evacuation centers first. From there, they will determine which families are in ABSOLUTE need of hotel accommodations (comp rooms with us). These will be determined by Red Cross on a need basis for people whose homes are unlivable. Red Cross will moderate this process as a checks and balances system. They have a block of 25 rooms with Atlantis. The families must contact the American Red Cross at 775-856-1000 for more information. In addition, Atlantis is all out of the $29 rate rooms. 300 reservations were received today.

The Sands Regency is offering rooms. Call (775) 336-2003 or come to the Sands. There are Dog Friendly Rooms available.

Restoration Church in Fernley is offering RV dry camping at their church property for any fire evacuee. Please call Lee Anne Chaffin 775 745 0075.

Sierra View Baptist Church would like to offer their assistance to any person or family affected by the fire. Our address is 7689 S. Virginia St. Suite E in Reno. Please call at 775-842-1905.

Fab Ten- We will be open 10am to 4pm Tomorrow. If you have lost anything come one in and we will get you some clothing items (free... We only carry womens clothes) Also 50% of ALL proceeds tomorrow will go to red cross to help the familys. We are lowering our prices to $3 for all clothing and 1/2 off everything else.

Boomtown is offering rooms for $29 a night for those affected by the fire.

The Nugget is offering a $29 room rate for evacuees of the fire in southwest Reno.

Kukuis Alii has a website for people to contact us about lost or found pets. If someone has a lost pet and they don't have access to the web, they can call with the description and we'll post it. If someone has located a pet, same thing. Club Cal Neva Hotel and Casino in Downtown Reno is offering complimentary rooms for the nights of November 18 – 20 for evacuees of the Caughlin Ranch fire. Evacuees must have a valid Nevada identification with an address from any of the areas that have been evacuated due to the fire. While the Club Cal Neva is offering rooms, they are stressing that these rooms are on a first come first served basis and are subject to availability and is asking that evacuees limit themselves to four people per room.

Siena Hotel Spa Casino is offering $29 room and are pet friendly.

The Peppermill is offering a $29 rate. Call (775) 826-2121 or come to the Peppermill to get this rate. There are Dog Friendly Rooms available. Through the Red Cross, Peppermill is providing complimentary rooms for Red Cross volunteers coming to our community to aid in relief efforts. Gold Dust West is offering free rooms for displaced families affected by the Caughlin Ranch fire.

Baymont Inn and Hawthorn Suites on Market Street have plenty of rooms and they have reduced rates for victims of the fire. Their number is 786 2500.
