Local Beauty Product Helps Rejuvenate Skin

RENO, Nev. -- Every woman loves a good facial - but they can add up fast. Now, thanks to a local entrepreneur, you can get spa treatment results, at home for less.

For a woman, finding the perfect skin care product can be overwhelming. That's why Wendy Avansino decided to take matters into her own hands.

"I was tired of paying $75 for a product that I have to go to a high-end day spa to get for one that was effective and one I got good results from," she said.

After watching a segment about alpha hydroxy on Dr. Oz four years ago, Avansino realized she was paying too much for an inexpensive ingredient.

"If you're not using an alpha hydroxy acid, any top dermatologist will tell you, you're wasting your money because you're basically putting a product on dead skin."

She sought after a cosmetic chemist and then created a line of skin products made entirely of natural ingredients, called MicroNaturals. She's charging a fifth of the marketed price.

"It removes fine lines and wrinkles, shrinks pours, I've had numerous testimonials from women telling me it's changed their life completely.

Colleen Voyles says she swears by the product. She usually has dry skin but hated using products that felt heavy and greasy.

"Living here in Nevada your skin is very dry so it seems to help with the hydration and moisturizing of the skin," she said.

Avansino wants women to know that healthy skin doesn't have to come with a large price tag.

"I can't live without it when i don't use it, I completely notice," she said.

MicroNaturals is available at your local Scholaris store. Avancino is teaming up with Scholaris to help women look and feel younger with a contest. From now until January 31, you can try a MicroNaturals product for 10 days, then submit a brief essay reporting your results, and you have a chance to win a Scholaris gift card up to $250.
