CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Nevada lawmakers are showing solidarity with state workers who've been forced to take pay cuts.
The Senate and Assembly on Wednesday unanimously approved a resolution for lawmakers to voluntarily give 4.8 percent of their legislative salaries back to the state general fund.
Over the past two years, state workers took a 2.5 percent salary cut and were required to take furloughs. Combined, those cuts amounted to 4.8 percent.
Nevada lawmakers are paid for the first 60 days of the 120-day legislative session held every two years.
Their salary for the session amounts to $8,777.
Under the resolution, their pay cut for the session is about $421.
Legislators also receive a separate per diem allowance of $152 per day.
