HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - A Republican party official says latecomers who missed taking part in the Nevada caucuses learned how caucuses work.

County Republican spokeswoman Bobbie Haseley says caucusing is
different from voting all day in a primary.

Caucuses gather voters at one place at one time to talk about candidates and cast ballots.

Precinct captain Dale Napier tells The Associated Press that a lot of people at Green Valley High School in Henderson thought Saturday's GOP caucus was open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and that they could arrive at any time.

Napier says people were still coming when caucusing ended about
10:30 a.m.

Napier told some to complain to party officials, and said he thought it might spur a discussion about holding a primary instead of a caucus.
