RENO, NV - A shooting incident on June 27 in downtown Reno is now being investigated for the murder of Tech N9ne performer Michael Jones.
Police have now identified the victim shot to death in 'Douglas Alley' in downtown Reno as Michael Jones.
According to Reno police officers responded to the "Douglas Alley", in the 200 block of N. Virginia Street around 1:40 a.m., after hearing shots being fired in the area.
Police found Jones suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Police say the shooting occurred after a concert ended at the "Knitting Factory" located at 211 N. Virginia Street. A group of males and Jones were seen fighting, things escalated and the victim was shot several times.
Police arrested a man who they say was attempting to flee the scene. Lamar Woods was found in possession of a stolen handgun and was subsequently arrested for weapons related charges as well as probation violation.
Detectives are continuing their investigation and trying to determine if Woods was involved in or responsible for the shooting.
Detectives are also reviewing surveillance videos from the area of the shooting in an effort to identify the shooting suspect and his companions.
