The non-profit, Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful is coordinating Saturday’s 6th annual Great Truckee Meadows Community Cleanup. They organization is looking for volunteers to help clean open spaces, pick up litter and pull out invasive weeds. Morgan Tiar with the small non-profit says, “We rely on volunteers. We need the help.”
Last year the group collected 81 pounds of trash. Tiar says the trash collected included; kitchen trash, cigarette butts and soiled diapers.
The event takes place on Saturday, May 7th from 8:30am-12 noon. If you’re interested in volunteering your time, visit: http://ktmb.org./

Go easy on the clean-up, it's the only thing that give this brown town color (besides the Mexicans).
KTMB is an outstanding asset to ALL volunteer organizations in the Truckee Meadows. They are also helping us at IGT with out Adopt-A-Park initiative at Huffaker Park on Saturday. KTMB, along with the City Of Reno Parks department has provided everything we need to help maintain the park, baseball diamond and play equipment. Please drop by if you are in the area from 8:30 - noon. We can always use a little extra help! KTMB is also sponsoring a Volunteer Appreciation lunch at Rancho San Rafael for everyone that helps with the Great Truckee Meadows Community Clean-up and our Adopt-A-Park. Give us a couple hours of your time and we'll give you lunch! Not a bad deal.
