PALOMINO VALLEY, NV - A brushfire has burned roughly 640 acres in Palomino Valley off Pyramid Highway.

Fire officials say the Ironwood Fire is fully contained.

The fire began shortly after 7PM Monday. Fire investigators say a wheel bearing flew off a trailer accidentally, with the hot metal starting brush on fire near the intersection of Pyramid and Ironwood. They say there was no intent or criminal activity.

No one was hurt and no homes were burned, but about a dozen were in danger for a short time.
