Reno, NV - The University of Nevada celebrated its 16th president. Marc Johnson got a standing ovation at his Inauguration. Hundreds came out to the Quad for the long-standing tradition. Johnson was named President of the University by the Board of Regents in April after serving as Interim President since April 2011. At his Inauguration he said he was humbled and honored.
"But this day is not about me," Johnson told the crowd. "This is not about the person of your new president. This is a day about the continuity of the heritage of the University of Nevada, Reno."
Johnson, who has an economics background, joined the University as Executive Vice President and Provost in 2008.
