RENO, NV - Seventeen horses were rounded up Tuesday in Damonte Ranch-area neighborhoods.
State agriculture officials put together the roundup after complaints from people in the area that horses were spending too much time in the road, put in danger of being hit by drivers. One neighbor even complained a horse got aggressive with a toddler. And ag officials are still concerned about people feeding the horses, making them seem maybe less dangerous than they can be.
An ag spokesman says the horses were taken to a holding center in Carson City to be processed, and then they will be sold at auction in
He says the operation, and others like it, are done with the knowledge and blessing of the Nevada governor's and attorney general's offices.
