SPARKS, Nev. -- A week after storms threatened to flood low-lying parts of the Truckee Meadows, the Sparks Hometowne Christmas Parade wound through Victorian Square in Sparks.
From a steam-punk-style Christmas float to a white car decked out to look like Frosty the Snowman, people got into the holiday spirit with fun and music.
The parade was initially scheduled for last weekend. Organizers pushed back the date of the parade because of potential flooding during stormy weather.
A number of other events drew people to downtown Sparks Saturday, including a craft fair and a visit from Santa Claus.
