RENO, NV - Reno police are investigating the apparent homicide of a homeless man in downtown Reno Wednesday night.

About 6:30PM, police were called to the area of 4th and Sierra Streets regarding a man down. A witness had come across 57-year-old Michael Anderson, who asked for help. By the time police and paramedics got there, Anderson was unconscious on a sidewalk.

Paramedics tried to revive him, but were unable to.

Police say there was no obvious cause of death, but an autopsy revealed Anderson had been shot and killed with an AIR gun. They don't have any suspects, but they are reviewing surveillance videotapes from the area and they are following leads.
