GOLDFIELD, Nev. (AP) - A man and a woman are jailed in the rural Nevada town of Goldfield after authorities detonated two explosive devices found in their car when they parked outside the historic Esmeralda County Courthouse.
Esmeralda County Sheriff Ken Elgan said Wednesday the man from Tonopah and woman from North Las Vegas are being held pending an initial court appearance on felony bomb and weapon charges.
They were arrested Tuesday after Elgan says the woman walked into the sheriff's office to report a pre-dawn road rage incident on U.S. 95 in Tonopah.
A deputy found a rifle and two pipe bomb devices in the trunk of their gold Infiniti.
A nearby school, homes and businesses were evacuated while the FBI and a bomb squad were summoned from Las Vegas, 185 miles away.
