UPDATED 6:30am - Southbound lanes of State Route 28 are back open after a water main broke Thursday night.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the southbound lanes were back open at 3:45am, but crews from the Nevada Department of Transportation are still on scene to divert traffic.
Southbound SR 28 near U.S. 50 is closed after a water main broke Thursday evening.
KOLO 8 News Now has been told the water main developed a leak and created a giant hole in the roadway.
Crews are working to repair the road but the it will likely be closed overnight.
