RENO, NV - Herman Cain rallied conservatives as part of an 'Americans for Prosperity' rally near GOP offices in Reno Monday.
Cain told the crowd the amount of government spending is "insane." The former GOP presidential candidate said if Obama is re-elected in November, it would be 'taxmageddon' in January.
Hundreds turned out to cheer on Cain, some holding signs - 'dump Obama,' 'defeat Obama,' and 'revolt against socialism.'
Cain, who bowed out of the presidential race amid allegations of an affair and sexual harassment, said it is his mission to defeat President Barack Obama. The pizza business mogul said the claims against him are "lies" designed to get him out of the race.
In an interview, Cain declined to name who he thought Romney should select as a runningmate. However, he said Romney should not have to release any additional tax records.
Cain said Romney's plan for the economy isn't strong enough. He said Romney should propose an entirely new tax system. A flat nine percent tax was a hallmark of Cain's campaign message.
Cain's visit to Reno came hours after Obama spoke to veterans in the city. Romney will visit the city tomorrow.
