One Man Facing Charges After Shooting and Police Standoff

RENO, Nev. -- A Reno Police Department (RPD) officials confirms the man arrested at the conclusion of a Friday evening standoff at Neil Road and Parkview Street is 27-year-old Aaron Arnell White.

According to the Washoe County Sheriff's Office website, White is facing Battery with/use of a Deadly Weapon and Ownership/Possession of a Gun by a Prohibited Person.

No court dates have yet been set for White.

RENO, NV - A police standoff at Parkview Street and Neil Road in Reno is over, and a suspect is in custody.

Reno police say around 4:40 p.m. Friday, a man was shot in the chest by someone with a shotgun. The victim was taken to Renown for surgery. He is expected to live.

Meantime, a person allegedly involved in the shooting holed up inside an apartment on Parkview Street.

A SWAT team was called out and surrounded the apartment, breaking a window and sending in a robot. Eventually, the person surrendered. Police also detained two other people.

The suspect has not been charged and no names have been released.
