RENO, NV - It's called the “Get Healthy, Get Covered” event at Truckee Meadows Community College.
It's both a health fair and health insurance enrollment event that gives you a unique opportunity to get assistance from highly experienced personnel to sign up for health insurance.
The Red Mountain Student Center isn't as busy as it will be three days from now.
That's when one of the last great opportunities to sign up for health insurance will take place here on campus.
”I would come in the front doors and they have a registration table, and at the registration table you'll get paperwork, and an intake form. You'll get instructions on what to do when you log into the computer,” says Tracy Evans, a Nevada Health Link assister.
Evans says if you come up here to sign up for health insurance, you need to bring a couple of items with you.
A picture ID--like a Nevada Driver's license and possible student I-D for dependent children.
Alien Registration Card is applicable
Social Security Card on all tax household members.
Dates of Birth for all tax household members.
Proof of Residence --like a phone or power bill
Proof of Income--a pay stub or 2012 tax return will work.
Copies of current Health Insurance Information if you are working your way through the system.
Evans says enrollees will be working in four classrooms on campus; they may be in groups, or working by themselves.
However, there will always be assistants in here including representatives from Xerox, the company responsible setting running the computerized enrollment system.
The doors open at the Red Mountain Student Center at 8:00 in the morning and registration continues to 4:00 in the afternoon.
Expect one to 2 hours to complete enrollment.
