CARSON CITY, NV -- Two people were killed in an early morning head-on crash on highway 50 outside Carson City.

Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) Trooper Barbara Stapleton says it happened just before 3:30am Sunday, June 23rd near Centennial Drive.

The NHP says a blue Nissan Altima driven by 34-year-old Jason W. Cloutier of Carson City was going west in the eastbound lane when it hit a white Ford Taurus head-on.

The driver of the Taurus, 59-year-old Mark Flora of Texas, died at the scene. The passenger of the Nissan, 26-year-old Sierra Grace Woodward of Carson City, also died. Emergency workers rushed Cloutier to the hospital, according to the NHP, saying he is now in serious condition.

According to NHP, alcohol is believed to be a factor, but the investigation is still ongoing.
