Gunfire Thwarts Attempt to Stop Robbers

RENO, Nev. -- Reno police officers are looking for two people who robbed a store at gunpoint, then actually fired the gun when a bystander tried to stop them from getting away.

It happened after dark Saturday evening at the Delight Food Mart in the 500 block of E. 4th Street in Reno. Investigators say a men and a woman went into the store, showed the employee the gun and demanded money. They then took the money and several items from the store and left.

Outside the store, a bystander tried to stop the two but when one of them fire the gun into the ground, the bystander stopped. No one was hurt.

Secret Witness is offering a $1,500 reward for information which leads to the arrest and prosecution of the suspects.

Investigators are looking for a man who is described as six feet tall with a skinny build. He was last seen wearing gray sweat pants, a black hoodie, a mask over his face and gloves.

They are also looking for a woman who is five feet, four inches tall and about 140 pounds. She was wearing light colored pants, a black sweatshirt with a white horizontal stripe in the middle, and a mask over her face.
