RENO, Nev. – Great Basin Brewing Company says it has captured Nevada’s independent spirit and bottled it for all to enjoy.
According to a press release, the companies Wild Horse Ale is now available at select stores throughout northern Nevada.
Crafted in the German “Alt” tradition, the award-winning amber ale gets its bold, complex flavor from a blend of five malts. Wild Horse Ale is a long-time Nevada favorite and two-time Bronze Medal winner at the Great American Beer Festival.
Paying homage to the bands of stallions that roam free in Nevada’s high desert plains, Wild Horse Ale is handcrafted to represent our state heritage, history, and spirit of independence.
“It’s one of our original brews that started the craft revolution in Nevada,” said Tom Young, owner of Great Basin Brewing Company. “The people of Nevada embraced Wild Horse Ale from the beginning and it continues to be one of our staple and most popular beers, proving once again that the west is still wild.”
Wild Horse Ale is the second signature brew from Great Basin Brewing Company to be distributed across the region. The brewery began bottling and distributing its flagship Ichthyosaur (A.K.A. “ICKY”) IPA in 2011, which lines the shelves of many fine retailers and is imbibed with vigor throughout northern Nevada and surrounding areas.
Great Basin beer, distributed by Southern Wine and Spirits, is currently available at both Great Basin brewery-restaurant locations and at more than 400 restaurants, bars and retail stores in northern Nevada.
Wild Horse Ale is also used to create a delicious cheddar sausage, locally made by The Sausage Factory in Carson City. This sausage is the most popular on Great Basin’s menu and is available at all Scolari's stores in Reno and Carson City, as well as at The Sausage Factory on Sage Street in Carson City—a true testament to local businesses coming together to offer unique, top-quality products in northern Nevada and beyond.
