RENO, NV - During the hustle and bustle of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, one national competition hopes to encourage people to give back to the community during Giving Tuesday.

Giving Tuesday is a national push to encourage the public to give back to charities, according to an event official. The official says Razoo is hosting a national competition to help charities across the nation to raise money. The causes are competing to win matching funds from the RAZOO foundation, according to the official.

Two causes participating in Northern Nevada are Urban Roots Garden Classrooms and Project REAL.

Urban Roots Garden Classrooms has set the goal of raising $2,500 for art and garden supplies hands-on-learning, scholarship money for Farm Camp, and funds to support their schoolyard garden grant program, according to an event official.

Project REAL is aiming to raise $2,500 to support their efforts to bring interactive and engaging law-related educational programs to the classroom, Your Day in Court course, and curriculum guide books and transportation for students to experience a day in court, according to an event official.

People can donate on the charities' webpage from now until Giving Tuesday.
