Gang-Related Shooting Sends One to Hospital in Fernley

FERNLEY, NV -- Lyon County Sheriff's detectives are investigating a gang-related shooting that sent one person to a hospital.

Deputies say at 12:10 Sunday morning, they were called to a shooting at a home on 6th Street. When they arrived, they found one injured person.

There was a party inside the home when an altercation between rival gang members started, according to deputies. That fight moved outside the home where the shooting took place.

Deputies say the shooters drove off.

The victim's identity is being withheld. According to Lyon County officials, another person was taken to a hospital for alcohol intoxication.

Alcohol appears to be a factor in the shooting.

The victim's injuries are non-life-threatening, according to deputies.
