Gang Member Arrested on Drug, Domestic Violence Charges

South Lake Tahoe, CA - South Lake Tahoe police have arrested a man they say is a gang member on drug and violence charges.

Sunday police responded to a report of a domestic battery on Blackwood Avenue. The victim said she had found her husband, 20-year-old Jesus Rodriguez, had hidden a significant amount of cocaine inside the home they share with their two-year-old. She told them she re-hid the drugs before confronting Rodriguez, and when she refused to give the cocaine back to him, he pushed her down on a bed and held her down with his hands around her throat. When she screamed, her younger brother called 911.

She says Rodriquez then grabbed their toddler and drove off. She gave police 20.6 grams of cocaine.

Rodriguez was found and arrested at his brother's house, and arrested for domestic battery and possession of a controlled substance for sale, both felonies. The child was unhurt and is back home.

Police say Rodriguez is an admitted member of the Norteno criminal street gang, and has been involved with other violent gang-related encounters in South Lake Tahoe.
