Fresno State Uses Defense to Defeat Nevada 52-36

Robbie Rouse rushed for 261 yards and two touchdowns and Fresno State tied a school record with three defensive touchdowns in beating Nevada 52-34 on Saturday.

Derek Carr had a pair of first-half touchdown passes for the Bulldogs (8-3, 6-1 Mountain West).

Fresno State's defensive touchdowns came on a 34-yard interception return by Derron Smith, a fumble recovery in the end zone by Tyeler Davidson and a 26-yard fumble recovery and return by Travis Brown, which put Fresno State up 38-21 with 8:45 left in the third quarter.

Rouse had 36 carries and touchdowns runs of 1 and 39 yards.

Stefphon Jefferson rushed for 95 yards and three touchdowns for Nevada (6-4, 3-3), which lost its third consecutive game.
