Reno, NV, November 8, 2012 – Local legal, real estate and financial professionals have partnered with the Nevada Foundation for Consumer Education to provide a free educational seminar for underwater homeowners. The seminar, Truth & Options: Help for Nevada Homeowners, will be held at Depoali Middle School (9300 Wilbur D. May Parkway) on November 13 at 6 p.m. The seminar is free and open to the public.
The panel, which includes an attorney, a mortgage lender, a real estate broker, a credit restoration specialist and a certified public accountant, will focus on the options that are available for homeowners who currently owe more than their property is worth. Some of the key discussion topics include current real estate market conditions, options for homeowners including short sale and loan modification, changes to legislation and possible tax implications. The seminar will feature a panel discussion followed by a question and answer session with the audience.
“There is important information out there that underwater homeowners need to understand,” said Jamie Cogburn of Cogburn Law Offices, one of the panel participants. “Conditions are changing, including the expiration of the Mortgage Forgiveness Debt Relief Act at the end of the year, so we put this panel together as a resource for homeowners. We want them to have current, accurate information so they can make the decision that is right for them.”
Although the seminar is free and open to the public, seating is limited and an RSVP is required. To learn more about the seminar or to RSVP, attendees can call 775.299.4446 or visit www.RenoTruthandOptions.com online.
