RENO, Nev. -- Children in need of a flu shot may be able to get a free one Monday at Shoppers Square in Reno.
Immunize Nevada and the Washoe County Health District are sponsoring the free clinic. Organizers are offering the free shots to children (6 months to 18 years old) who have "Medicaid, Nevada Check-up, private insurance that doesn't cover vaccines, no insurance" or who are American Indian/Alaskan Natives.
Flu vaccines will also be available for adults and kids who do have insurance, but supplies are limited. Shots will be administered on a first-come, first served basis.
Health officials say they have seen a jump in influenza cases in Washoe County and the best way to prevent getting sick and/or spreading the virus is to get vaccinated
The free clinic will be Monday, February 4th from 2pm to 6pm in Shoppers Square (277 E. Plumb Ln.).
