RENO, NV - One of Reno's most popular disc jockeys from the '80s and '90s has died.
Wild Bill Cody came to Reno from Denver to do mornings at KWNZ-FM in 1988, and stayed until 1994. When he left, he worked in Chicago and northern California briefly, and had another brief stint in Reno, but ended back up in Colorado, where he was most recently working in Cheyenne and Fort Collins.
He died of an apparent heart attack at his home Christmas Day after surviving another heart attack months earlier.
Cody was a fan of the Byrds and loved his Irish Setters. He was 63 years old.
