Former Wolf Pack tight end Zach Sudfeld was claimed off of waivers by the New York Jets. He has been added to their 53-man roster.
He was released by the Patriots on Thursday. Sudfeld had signed with New England as a free agent after going undrafted out of Nevada this year. He played well enough in the preseason to earn a spot on their opening day roster.
His spot became expendable with the signing of Austin Collie, and the expected returns of both Danny Amendola and Rob Gronkowski.
Sudfeld was an All-Conference selection his senior year at Nevada, catching 45 passes for 598 yards and eight touchdowns.
