FALLON, NV -- Former Churchill County Sheriff Rich Ingram has been taken to a hospital after being the victim of a hit and run accident.
The Nevada Highway Patrol tells KOLO 8 News Now the Wednesday morning accident occurred in the area of McLean Road and US 50; however, because there's no markings or debris in the road, the specific location cannot be determined.
It was sometime around 7:30 a.m. when Ingram's white Honda Civic was rear ended by a white Volkswagen pickup truck. The female driver of the VW took off, and was later found by investigators at a nearby home. She claimed injuries at the home, and was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
The NHP suspects the woman was impaired, but would not confirm DUI. Charges are pending.
