RENO, NV - Hazardous materials crews spent several hours Tuesday at an industrial building on Security Circle in north Reno, dealing with a fire and hazardous materials threat.
The fire in one room of Kappes, Cassiday and Associates, a mining chemical company, was quickly put out. But many of the chemicals used can react strongly to fire or water, which is why hazardous materials and decontamination crews were careful to check the safety of the building.
All 40 employees were safely evacuated and everyone sent home for the day. No one was hurt, and the cause of the fire hasn't been determined.
