Fernley Shooting Lands Man In Jail For Attempted Murder

FERNLEY, Nev. (AP) - Lyon County sheriff's deputies have arrested a suspect after a shooting in Fernley.

The LCSO says 21-year-old Spencer Brown is being held in the Lyon County jail on suspicion of attempted murder, a felony.

Deputies responded to a call about 2 a.m. Friday at an apartment on Village Drive where a woman told them her boyfriend had shot a man.

She said he shot the man, an acquaintance of the couple, during an argument.

Police say Brown initially barricaded himself in the couple's apartment about but eventually surrendered without incident.

The unidentified victim was transported to a Reno hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Deputies say he suffered a cut when a bullet apparently grazed his head.

The Fernley Justice Court ordered no bail in this case.
