Felony Hit-and-Run Sends Two Cyclists to the Hospital

SPARKS, Nev. -- Two cyclists are hurt and police are searching for a felony hit-and-run driver.

A few minutes before 3am Saturday morning, a man and a woman from Sparks were riding bicycles northbound along Kietzke just south of Victorian Ave. They were on the right-hand shoulder of the road when an SUV - which was also going north - hit them and drove off.

Ambulance personnel took both cyclists to Renown Medical Center, but their injuries appear to be non-life-threatening.

Police describe the SUV that hit them as a white, Honda SUV with front-end damage, including a missing "Honda" emblem from the grill. They do not have any information on the car's license plate.

If you have any more information, Sparks Police Department investigators ask that you call them at (775) 353-2231 or contact Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.

Secret Witness is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of a suspect.
