The Nevada Highway Patrol says a man is accused of driving drunk with his seven month old child in the car, causing an accident involving a pedestrian, then suddenly leaving the scene of the crash.

Sgt. Greb with NHP says 40-year-old Ryan Gilmore was arrested Saturday night after being involved in a crash on Sun Valley Blvd around 3:00 that afternoon. He allegedly rear-ended another car and hit a pedestrian. That pedestrian was taken to the hospital for major injuries.

Greb says after the accident, Gilmore simply took-off. Officers tracked him down on Dandini Blvd and arrested him. That’s when they discovered he had been driving under the influence.

Gilmore was booked into the Washoe County Jail on more than $40,000 bail.
