Reno, Nev. - Girls in our area are learning about fashion and budgeting at this summer's Fashion Camp at the Atlantis.
The one-day camp is for girls ages five to seventeen, and each week is centered around a different fashion topic.
The first week, girls learned model behavior and runway production. They've also learned about fashion editing and fashion TV. The final week, August 8-12, girls will learn behind the scenes fashion marketing.
The teacher, Isha Casagrande, says it's called Fashion Camp to get the girls to come. Once they're there, they learn about fashion, but they also learn about how to present themselves and get along with other girls.
The get to use $25 gift cards to go back-to-school shopping, and Casagrande says that teaches them how to budget.
Casagrande says she sees students leave the camp with good self-esteem.
"She says like, talk loud for the TV, so they can hear you, and just have fun," said camper Rachel Wilkerson, a fashion camper.
"We learn about how to shop, and we go to different stores and get our makeup done," said camper Avery Hurley.
There is one week left of fashion camp at The Summit.
