RENO, Nev. (AP) - A former Fernley man who pleaded guilty to child pornography charges has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison.
Daniel Bogden, the U.S. attorney for Nevada, says 41-year-old Jason Torres became a suspect in a child pornography investigation after he was identified during an undercover operation last summer.
FBI agents found the porn while executing a search warrant at his home and recovering a computer thumb drive from his vehicle. A friend later turned over a laptop and external hard drive that belonged to Torres.
Investigators say they recovered more than a dozen photos and more than a 140 videos of children, including pre-teens engaged in sexually explicit conduct, some of it sadistic and masochistic.
Judge Robert Jones sentenced Torres Monday to lifetime probation
once he's released from prison.
