From dancing robots to earthquake proof buildings, engineering makes it possible.
Thursday the University of Nevada Reno hosted Engineers Day.
More than 200 Washoe County middle and high school students got to tour 20 labs at the school to see what engineers do, and how they can get involved in that kind of work.
Demonstrations included dipping fruit into liquid nitrogen and watching it shatter, interaction with robots, and a simulated earthquake on a small "shake table".
UNR's College of Engineering has been recognized for excellence nationally and internationally.
They have graduated more than 1,500 engineering students in the past five years.
According to monster dot com, as the nation's economy continues to grow, so do job opportunities in engineering.
