TRUCKEE, CA - Traffic is moving again after a big rig accident on Interstate 80 near Truckee. All eastbound lanes on I-80 at Overland Trail north of Truckee were closed much of Friday morning, but have been reopened.

CHP tells us a Jaguar broke down and was getting a push from an Oldsmobile in the slow lane of traffic. A big rig driver did not notice the two cars in time and drove up on top of the Oldsmobile before rolling on its side.

There were 3 passengers in the Jaguar who are reporting no injuries. There was a female and male inside the Oldsmobile; the female sustained moderate injuries and the male was sent via Care Flight to Reno with severe injuries.

A husband and wife were in the big rig. The wife was driving and the husband was sleeping in the passenger seat. The wife was not injured and the husband sustained a moderate head injury.

Everyone involved is from Sacramento or Michigan.

The big rig was loaded with fruit and vegetables.

CHP officers say it was foggy in the area, but fog is not believed to have played a role in the wreck.

Fog in the Truckee area could be a factor in a big rig accident that closed down I-80 eastbound on November 1, 2013.
