Earthquake Swarm Shakes California, Nevada Near Bordertown

RENO, Nev. -- A swarm of earthquakes is sending tremors through Dog Valley this St. Patrick's Day.

Seismology equipment at the Nevada Seismological Laboratory on the University of Nevada, Reno campus recorded at least 12 minor earthquakes between 7:31am and 9:40am. Most of them are centered southwest of Bordertown in the Dog Valley region.

The largest magnitude quake in the swarm measured 2.5. That one occurred at 7:50am.
