One man was killed Monday morning on I-80 after he rolled his truck, crushing the passenger compartment.
According to the California Highway Patrol it happened around 8 a.m. when 44-year-old Edwin Schuler of Modesto, Calif., was heading east on Interstate 80 just east of Kingvale. For reasons still under investigation, Schuler drifted to the left onto the median shoulder where he abruptly over corrected to the right.
The over correction caused the truck to fishtail from left to right forcing Schuler to lose control. He hit the median shoulder and rolled down the center median embankment crushing the truck compartment.
Schuler was pronounced dead at the scene.
This collision is still under investigation. Alcohol was determined not to be a contributing factor in this collision. Any witnesses are encourage to contact Truckee CHP at (530)582-7570.
