RENO -- The Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office is identifying the man killed in a crash on Maple Street Sunday as 45-year-old Robel Tezare of San Bruno, California.

The Reno Police Department said Tezare's SUV ran a red light as it got off Interstate 80 and collided with a sedan. Lt. Amy Newman said the SUV rolled. She said Tezare was killed, but two kids inside the SUV were ok. She said they were buckled in properly. The people in the sedan were not seriously hurt, police said.

Newman said so far police officers have been unable to determine why Tezare went through the light. She said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. Additionally, she said the driver did not appear to suffer a medical episode.

Art Rios, an employee at the nearby Shell, said a hill and several traffic lights can confuse drivers getting off the highway. "The people that are getting off the freeway don't see this set of lights because it's kind of a round mound," he said.
