RENO, Nev. -- Drivers in the state's capital came out in force to help support the Carson High School junior varsity and varsity cheerleaders.
It was all part of the "Drive 4UR School" event. Tim Milligan, Capital Ford General Manager, said for every test drive people took, the cheerleaders got a $20 donation with a maximum of 300 test drives. The event started just before 9am and they reached the 300 mark before noon... making the total donation to the cheerleading squads $6,000.
Milligan said this is Capital Ford's eighth Drive 4UR School event and it is the fastest they reached their goal.
According the Ford Motor Company website, the Drive 4UR School program was established in response to school budget cuts as a way for communities to support and maintain important school programs.
