The missing girl was found safe in Carson City Thursday morning and has been returned to Douglas County.
MINDEN, NV - The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has asked for the media's help in looking for a runaway girl.
Saturday, June 21, 2014, 12-year-old Cara Breann Valerie (Valerie is her last name) ran away from her grandparent’s home in Minden.
Cara is believed to have run away to the Reno/Sparks area. Cara may be in the company of a teenage boy named Samson Martinez, but they don't have reason to believe she is in danger or has any health risk. But they believe the situation is unusual enough to ask for help above and beyond the case with most runaways.
Cara is Caucasian with brown shoulder-length straight hair and blue eyes. She is about 4 feet tall and 80 pounds.
Cara was last known to be wearing a white tank top, jean shorts and black shoes. She left home with a blue backpack.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Cara is urged to call DCSO Investigator Nate Almeida at: 775-782-9908 or Douglas County Emergency Dispatch at: 775-782-5126.
