UPDATE, Friday 2:00pm:
Douglas County officials confirm the body found in the crash of a Cessna 172 in the Pinenut Mountains east of Minden is that of Keith Jorgenson.

MINDEN, NV - An FAA spokesman confirms the NTSB is investigating the crash site of a downed Cessna 172.

Search crews found the aircraft wreckage around 2:40 p.m. Thursday in the Pinenut Mountains about 10 miles east of Minden. The aircraft was destroyed and a body is inside.

46-year-old Keith Jorgenson of Gardnerville was believed to be the only occupant of the plane. He took off from the small Minden airport Wednesday night without filing a flight plan, and the search began when he didn't return home when he said he would.

The body hasn't been positively identified.
