Bogie, a young Mini Pinscher, is a lucky fellow. He arrived at Nevada Humane Society with a badly broken leg after he jumped from a car.
The NHS clinic examined Bogie and took x-rays of his broken leg. Due to the complexity of his injuries, he needed surgical repair by a specialist. The kind team at Sierra Veterinary Specialists came to the rescue. Bogie is recovering well and when his cast comes off later this week, he will need some additional care and physical therapy before he is ready for adoption.
Nevada Humane Society is currently seeking donations toward Bogie’s care. While Sierra Veterinary Specialists provided the surgery at a discount, Bogie also needs weeks of care at Nevada Humane Society. The total cost of his treatment is expected to be $1,800. The expense is putting a strain on shelter resources so Nevada Humane Society is asking animal lovers to consider donating toward Bogie’s care.
“Despite all that Bogie has been through, he is a lively, energetic, and happy dog. He is expected to make a full recovery and in a few more weeks, Bogie will be looking for a new home,” said Arthur Westbrook, Dog Care Manager at Nevada Humane Society.
